Burlington Stores Posts Q2 Earnings Beat and Raises Full-Year Outlook

Burlington Stores reported second quarter fiscal 2025 sales of $2.7 billion, up 10% from the prior year and above analyst expectations of $2.63 billion. Comparable store sales rose 5%, following 5% growth in the same quarter last year.

Gross margin expanded to 43.7% from 42.8% a year earlier, supported by 60 basis points of merchandise margin improvement and 30 basis points from lower freight expense. Net income was $94 million, or $1.47 per share, compared with $74 million, or $1.15 per share, a year earlier. On an adjusted basis excluding expenses tied to bankruptcy-acquired leases, earnings per share were $1.72, up from $1.24 last year. Burlington also reported EPS of $1.59 for the quarter, exceeding analyst estimates of $1.29 by $0.3.

For the first six months of fiscal 2025, total sales increased 8% year over year, while net income rose 28% to $195 million, or $3.05 per share, compared with $152 million, or $2.37 per share, in the prior year. Adjusted net income was $217 million, or $3.39 per share, versus $171 million, or $2.66 per share, last year. Burlington ended the quarter with $1.69 billion in liquidity, including $748 million in cash and $946 million in borrowing availability, against total debt of $2.04 billion. Inventory increased 16% to $1.42 billion, though comparable store inventory declined 8%.

Looking ahead, Burlington raised its full-year earnings forecast and now expects fiscal 2025 EPS of $9.19 to $9.59, compared with $8.35 in fiscal 2024.

Marvell Reports Record Revenue Growth in Q2 Fiscal 2026, Sets Guidance for Q3

Marvell Technology reported financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, posting net revenue of $2.006 billion, a 58% year-over-year increase and in line with the consensus estimate of $2.01 billion. The company recorded net income of $194.8 million, or $0.22 per diluted share. On an adjusted basis, earnings per diluted share were $0.67, matching analyst estimates. Gross margin for the quarter was 50.4%, with an adjusted margin of 59.4%. Net income on an adjusted basis totaled $585.5 million, while cash flow from operations reached $461.6 million.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Marvell guided revenue to approximately $2.06 billion, compared to the consensus estimate of $2.1 billion. Earnings per diluted share are expected to range from $0.69 to $0.79, versus analyst expectations of $0.72. Gross margin is projected between 51.5% and 52%, with the adjusted margin ranging from 59.5% to 60%. Operating expenses are expected to total about $719 million, with adjusted operating expenses of $485 million. Diluted shares outstanding are projected at roughly 870 million.

Victoria’s Secret Q2 2025 Results Beat Estimates; Full-Year Outlook Raised

Victoria’s Secret & Co. reported second quarter fiscal 2025 revenue of $1.46 billion, up 3% from $1.42 billion a year earlier and above the consensus estimate of $1.41 billion. Comparable sales increased 4% for the quarter. The company reported earnings per share of $0.33, exceeding analyst expectations of $0.13, though lower than $0.4 in the prior year period.

Operating income was $41 million versus $62 million a year ago. Net income totaled $16 million, compared with $32 million in the same quarter of 2024. Adjusted figures showed operating income of $55 million, down from $62 million last year but ahead of the company’s guidance of $15 million to $35 million, and adjusted net income of $27 million, compared with $31 million in the prior year.

For the outlook, Victoria’s Secret raised its full-year fiscal 2025 revenue forecast to $6.33 billion to $6.41 billion, compared with prior guidance of $6.2 billion to $6.3 billion and above consensus expectations of $6.24 billion. Full-year adjusted operating income is expected to remain between $270 million and $320 million, with tariff-related costs projected at approximately $100 million.

For the third quarter, Victoria’s Secret projects revenue between $1.39 billion and $1.42 billion, compared with $1.35 billion a year earlier and above the consensus of $1.36 billion. Earnings per share for the period are expected in the range of a loss of $0.55 to $0.75, in line with consensus of a loss of $0.56.
