Amkor Meets Q1 EPS but Margins Weaken; Guides Q2 EPS Range Wider Than Expected

Amkor Technology reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025, delivering earnings per diluted share (EPS) of $0.09, in line with the analyst estimate. Revenue for the quarter was $1.32 billion, exceeding the consensus estimate of $1.28 billion but down from $1.63 billion in Q4 2024 and $1.37 billion in Q1 2024.

Gross profit stood at $158 million, resulting in a gross margin of 11.9%, compared to 15.1% in the previous quarter and 14.8% a year earlier. Operating income was $32 million, with a margin of 2.4%, while net income totaled $21 million. EBITDA for the quarter reached $197 million, down from $302 million in Q4 and $233 million in the year-ago period.

For Q2 2025, Amkor guided EPS between $0.07 and $0.23, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.18, and projected revenue between $1.375 billion and $1.475 billion, ahead of the $1.332 billion consensus. Gross margin is expected to range from 11.5% to 13.5%. Full-year 2025 capital expenditures are anticipated to be approximately $850 million.

F5 Reports Q2 FY2025 Results with 7% Revenue Growth and Raises Full-Year Outlook

F5 reported second quarter fiscal 2025 results for the period ended March 31, 2025, with revenue reaching $731 million, a 7% increase from $681 million in the same quarter last year. Product revenue rose 12% year over year, driven by a 27% increase in systems revenue, which totaled $179 million.

Software revenue remained steady at $158 million, while global services revenue grew 3% to $394 million. Operating income for the quarter was $159 million, up from $140 million a year earlier, and net income increased to $146 million, or $2.48 per diluted share, compared to $119 million, or $2.00 per diluted share, in the prior-year period.

Gross profit reached $590 million, reflecting a margin of 80.7%, up from $540 million and 79.3% a year ago. Operating margin improved to 21.7%, compared to 20.5% in the prior year. F5’s earnings excluding certain items totaled $201 million, or $3.42 per diluted share, exceeding analyst expectations.

F5 also raised its full-year 2025 revenue growth forecast to a range of 6.5% to 7.5%, up from 6% to 7%, and lifted its earnings per share growth forecast to between 8% and 10%, previously guided at 6.5% to 8.5%. For the third quarter, F5 expects revenue between $740 million and $760 million, exceeding the $739 million estimate compiled by LSEG.

Domino’s Reports Q1 2025 Results: Global Retail Sales Up Despite Mixed U.S. Performance

Domino’s Pizza reported earnings per share (EPS) of $4.33 for the first quarter of 2025, surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of $4.00 by $0.33. However, quarterly revenue of $1.11 billion came in slightly below the consensus forecast of $1.13 billion.

Global retail sales rose to $4.46 billion, reflecting 4.7% growth year-over-year when excluding foreign currency impact. International same store sales grew by 3.7%, while U.S. same store sales declined 0.5%, including a 2.9% decrease at company-owned stores and a 0.4% drop at franchised locations. U.S. retail sales increased 1.3% to $2.24 billion, while international retail sales climbed 8.2% to $2.22 billion. Global net store count declined by 8, as 17 net openings in the U.S. were offset by 25 net closures internationally.

Total revenue rose 2.5% from the prior year, driven by higher U.S. franchise advertising revenue and a 4.8% increase in food basket pricing. Income from operations edged down 0.2% to $210.1 million, though it increased 1.4% when excluding a $3.2 million foreign exchange headwind. Net income increased 18.9% to $149.7 million, supported by a favorable change in unrealized gains related to the company’s investment in DPC Dash. Free cash flow surged 59.1% to $164.4 million, and the leverage ratio improved slightly to 4.9x.
