Mohawk Industries Reports Q2 2025 Earnings Decline Amid Flat Sales and Ongoing Restructuring Efforts
Mohawk Industries reported second-quarter 2025 net earnings of $147 million, a decline from $157 million in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $2.34, while adjusted EPS was $2.77—$0.17 higher than the analyst estimate of $2.6. Revenue for the quarter totaled $2.8 billion, slightly ahead of the $2.76 billion consensus.
Segment performance was mixed: Global Ceramic sales rose 0.5% to $1.12 billion; Flooring Rest of the World increased 1% to $734 million; and Flooring North America declined 1.2% to $947 million. Total operating income decreased to $189 million from $214 million a year ago, while gross profit fell to $714 million from $724 million. Mohawk generated $126 million in free cash flow and repurchased 393,000 shares for approximately $42 million during the quarter.
For the first half of 2025, net earnings were $219 million, down from $262 million the prior year. Year-to-date EPS declined to $3.49 from $4.1, while adjusted EPS fell to $4.29 from $4.85. Revenue for the six-month period totaled $5.33 billion, representing a 2.8% decrease. Operating income was $285 million, down from $361 million in the first half of 2024.
The Flooring North America segment posted operating income of $62 million, compared to $123 million a year ago, while Flooring Rest of the World reported $125 million, down from $137 million. Mohawk projects third-quarter 2025 EPS between $2.56 and $2.66, below the current consensus estimate of $2.72.

Saia Reports Lower Q2 2025 Earnings Amid Softer Revenue and Higher Operating Costs
Saia reported second-quarter 2025 net income of $71.4 million, down 30% from $102.5 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share declined to $2.67 from $3.83 in the prior-year period. Revenue for the quarter totaled $817.1 million, a 0.7% decrease year-over-year, while operating income dropped 27.8% to $99.4 million.
Operating ratio rose to 87.8% from 83.3%, indicating higher costs relative to revenue. LTL shipments per workday declined 2.8%, though tonnage per workday rose 1.1%. Revenue per hundredweight excluding fuel surcharge decreased 1.2%, while revenue per shipment excluding fuel rose 2.7% to $298.71. Interest expense more than doubled to $4.7 million from $2.4 million a year earlier, contributing to a 29.6% decrease in income before taxes, which stood at $95.6 million.
As of June 30, 2025, Saia reported cash and cash equivalents of $18.8 million and total debt of $309.1 million, up from $11.2 million and $176.7 million, respectively, at the end of the same quarter in 2024. Capital expenditures for the first six months of 2025 totaled $375.6 million, down from $681.3 million in the same period last year. Cash flow from operations reached $279.8 million for the half-year, an increase from $237.2 million in 2024. Saia’s asset base grew to $3.46 billion, driven by an increase in property and equipment. The company operated 213 terminals during the quarter.

HCA Healthcare Raises 2025 Outlook Amid Q2 Results, Cites 2026 Policy Uncertainty
HCA Holdings reported second-quarter 2025 earnings per share of $6.84, exceeding the analyst estimate of $6.27 by $0.57. Revenue for the quarter reached $18.61 billion, also above the consensus estimate of $18.49 billion. Compared to the same period in 2024, revenue rose 6.4% while net income attributable to the company increased 13.1% to $1.65 billion.
Operating cash flow more than doubled to $4.21 billion from $1.97 billion a year earlier. Same-facility admissions rose by 1.8%, and revenue per equivalent admission increased 4%. Despite the overall growth, inpatient and outpatient surgeries declined slightly, by 0.3% and 0.6%, respectively. Capital expenditures for the quarter totaled $1.18 billion, and HCA repurchased 7.03 million shares for $2.51 billion. As of June 30, the company held $939 million in cash and reported total debt of $44.48 billion.
HCA also raised its 2025 guidance, now expecting full-year revenue between $74 billion and $76 billion and net income attributable to the company between $6.11 billion and $6.48 billion. Earnings per share are projected in the range of $25.5 to $27, up from the previous forecast of $24.05 to $25.85. Operating profit is now estimated between $14.7 billion and $15.3 billion.
