What is Texas Instruments?

Texas Instruments (TI) designs and sells semiconductors worldwide, with a primary focus on two segments: Analog and Embedded Processing. Analog provides power and signal chain products; Embedded Processing has microcontrollers, digital signal processors, and application processors.

The Analog segment

This segment is responsible for power products that manage power requirements across various voltage levels. The segment provides battery-management solutions, DC/DC switching regulators, AC/DC and isolated controllers and converters, power switches, linear regulators, voltage supervisors, voltage references, and lighting products.

The Analog segment additionally provides signal chain products, which sense, condition, and measure signals for the purpose of transferring or converting information to enable further processing and control. These products include amplifiers, data converters, interface products, motor drives, clocks, and sensing products.

Embedded Processing segment

 This segment consists of microcontrollers, digital signal processors for mathematical computations, and applications processors.

TI also provides DLPs primarily used as projectors and application-optimized integrated circuits. TI’s calculators are also built to support visual stimulants derived from environmental surfaces.

History

Texas Instruments (TI) has been operating since 1930 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, as a semiconductor company. TI has a long history of producing innovative products, including the first transistor radio in 1954 and the first handheld calculator in 1967.
